Jazz Alley, 2/24/06. I've loved their music for years, and finally I got to see them play... Critter and I loaded up on drinks and a swingin' time was had by all. The music was loud & brassy, the drums were crisp and thumpy, and the guys really seemed to be enjoying themselves despite having to do another show just a half hour after the one we saw. The bass player and Scotty (lead singer) were especially enjoying themselves, and I commented to Critter afterwards that it's nice to see musicians enjoy their work instead of acting bored (the vibe I got when seeing Cake last year). BBVD are a talented, energetic group and if you like swing jazz you'd be nuts to miss 'em.
