Altan was the gateway to my discovery of the joys of Celtic music, and over 10 years later I'm still enjoying the hell out of it. I saw them play here in Seattle in 2000 and it was fantastic, and last night's show was even better--they are an amazingly talented group, full of wit and charm and fiery tunes. They even got some of the typically passive Seattle audience to get up and dance, which is always fun to see.
